Jiayang and i decided on the following two posters to criticze upon.
I like the background design of the jumper poster.... the colours of the sky, etc.
aniwae.. will update our criticisms a little later...
people i have asked around commented that emphsis should be placed on my headings, and on the caption inside. I shall also play with the use of colours in the text below to ensure that the keywords are emphasized. Instead of using whit for all the words, i shall be making fonts red imprinted on a black backgrond to stand out.
Therefore, here's my final version...

I think i have decided to narrow down to either the piggy bank picture, or the relaionsihp abuse one. Took a few photos that i tried to upload but aparently there's some error. The photos turned out not as well expected especially for my save pets idea. Therefore i'm dropping that idea.
We are supposed to be doing a poster for this week's assignment. Thank goodness we had an extra week of holidays this time.
Brainstormed a couple of ideas and haven't decided which one to use. I shall be askin around my friends to see which idea is better
1) Save money campaign. - Save money for a rainy day
Picture/Graphic: Consists of an umbrella and a piggybank. Piggybank would be under the umbrella. Umbrella would be rainbow coloured placed on a black background to bring out the idea of how wonderful it would be if you can save an extra cent a day.
2) Drink Driving - a lot of people would be doing this. But i was thinking of replacing parts of the car such as the gearshift with alcohol bottles. A bottle of red wine would be in the compartment of the car beside the steering wheel, whereby red droplets of blood would be dripping out from the bottleneck.
3) Stop irresponsible pet owners - Save domestic animals! - took a couple of photos of my 4 dogs.... was planning on taking a photo of four of them sitting down facing a direction whereby i would photoshop a threatening animal in the oppsite direction (i.e. a tiger, or an eagle). Caption would be SAVE THE DOGS.
4) Abuse campaign - either reltionship abuse, or verbal abuse. But i believe from my observation that many people would be doin verbal abuse. So i was thinking of doing a poster of a relationship abuse. Found out lots of information on relationship abuse. Thought of using a happy couple as an example, whereby the guy or girl is holding a pistol or knife/chopper while holding the hands of the girl. This is to bring out the idea that not everything looks as perfect as it seems.
These are the 4 ideas i have thought of. Would elaborate more later.
Okay, this is the finalised one.
Tutorial mates told me that the story was understandable. Was relieved when most of them could understand what the story was about. I changed picture 5 however to make the story more realistic as the previous version of picture 5 seemed a bit too exaggerated....
I should be making use of these 8 pictures.
Was trying to bring out the idea of the twist at the end of the story whereby the wallet that the girl stole eventually belonged to a police officer...
attempted several shots before deciding on these 8.....
of course this is subjected to tutorials whereby i'll be receiving more feedback frm classmates and julian..

I've decided to settle on a grey background (don't ask me why) coz i'm absolutely bad at colour coordination...
But yups... here's the final product:
My name is John.. and i love music/singing. Music and performing has been part of my life since like secondary 1... Learnt the piano since young, etc. My life's probably going to be mundane if i never ever started writing songs and performing. Singing and songwriting is like a perfect way for me to destress after a horrid day at school/work.
Therefore...
For this picture i've decided to make use of the shadow of a singer, together with glimpses of a keyboard, musical notes, music staves, headphones etc. Action lines are an attempt to show the movement of the singer, and to bring out the fact that he's actually enjoying singing...

Now for my dislike...
I couldn't exactly find anything to particularly hate. So i've decided to settle upon technology... which i believe is taking away a lot of our valuable time. Like hello... people nowadays don't actually find the time to switch off the lights, turn on some nice soothing music, enjoy some cool gentle night breeze, or simply close their eyes and relax. Because of technology we inadvertently find ourselves living in this absolutely fast paced world..
Here's my final product for my dislike...
My classmates have suggested me using crack lines to display my dislike for technology. I've decided to also add the flames to depict a very negative feeling towards technology. The items constituting my nme includes daily technological items such as the cell phone, the ipod, and a bluetooth headset, all bundled about a computer desktop...
My own personal reflection about this design is that it looks like it just came out from a primary school colour pencil book. But nonetheless, i can't exactly think of any other way to make it look more professional...
